We make FOOD a regular mitzvah, but this week, go further and put it on your calendar. Make it a part of your routine, so that it becomes a weekly ritual instead of a special one. We do suggest that you give money instead of donating food, so they can buy in bulk (unless otherwise specified). COVID rates are rising, and the need for food will only increase.
Unlike Jacob, who didn't want to connect with his brother, we are doing this mitzvah to connect with others. It doesn't matter whether your contribution is big or small; it matters that you commit to donating on regular basis.

Riverdale Y Senior Meals Program. The Riverdale Y recently lost their funding for this essential service, so they are depending on donations to continue feeding our seniors. They have prepared and delivered over 80,000 meals since the beginning of the pandemic. Click here to donate directly to this program. |
Last Riverdale Y Sunday Market Food Drive of the Season this Sunday! The Market h a food drive this week, on the last day of the 2020 season. Buy fresh food from the vendors to give to the Friendly Fridge -- a win-win! The Market is at 4545 Independence Avenue from 9am to 2pm. |
