Fresh Food Box in Harlem with GrowNYC | The Institute - Part 3
In the heat of the election, we may have forgotten that we are on the cusp of another major outbreak of COVID-19, making access to food more important than ever.  We are fortunate to be part of a community that takes food justice very seriously. Here are a few options for how and when to give:

On Sundays, you can donate food at the Riverdale Y Sunday Market from 9am to 2pm. The Market has a table where you can leave fresh food (usually purchased from the vendors) as well as non-perishable goods that will be delivered to the Friendly Fridge on 242nd Street and Broadway after the end of the day. The Market will be open for the next 3 Sundays at 4545 Independence Avenue. You can also donate cash.

On Tuesdays, you can donate to the North Bronx Collective food pantry at the Church of the Mediator from 6:30 to 7:30pm. The food pantry has a very specific list of items that they accept -- NOT canned, processed, nor sugary. The list includes: fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, whole grain products (pasta and crackers), dried beans and legumes, spices, fresh garlic, ginger, and turmeric, raw apple cider vinegar, organic honey, and oils.

On any day of the week, you can take food straight to the Friendly Fridge. The Fridge is open 24/7, in front of The Last Stop at 5977 Broadway. If you have food that you want to donate, there's no need to wait!
