Food

At the Passover Seder we recite the following:

“Let all who are hungry come and eat, let all who are in need share our Pesach.”

With that in mind, let us redouble our efforts and feed the hungry among us, with gifts of food to the community fridges and donations to some of the organizations listed below:

  • Friendly Fridge. You can drop food off at the fridge 24/7 or donate to their GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-friendly-fridge-bx. The fridge is in front of The Last Stop at 5983 Broadway (242nd Street).
  • The Neighborhood Fridge. This fridge is maintained by Riverdale Neighborhood House and is located at the corner of 256th Street and Mosholu Avenue.
  • Riverdale Y Senior Meals Program. The Riverdale Y depends on donations to continue feeding our seniors. They have prepared and delivered over 90,000 kosher meals since the beginning of the pandemic. Click here to donate directly to this program.
  • Northwest Bronx Food Justice Coalition (Riverdale Senior Services). RSS works with St. Stephen's Church and Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) to provide meals to the community. Go to https://rssny.org/give/ways-to-help.html to find out how you can help.
  • Part of the Solution (POTS). POTS provides healthy lunches 5 days a week and groceries from their food pantry. To donate, click here.
  • North Bronx Collective Food Pantry at the Church of the Mediator. To donate money, go to their GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/alicia039s-campaign-for-culture-push-inc.
  • The Kingsbridge/Riverdale/Marble Hill Food and Hunger Project. KRMH is currently giving out gift cards to local supermarkets in lieu of distributing food on-site. To make a contribution, send checks to KRMH Food Pantry, PO Box 251 Riverdale Station, Bronx, NY 10471.
