Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief
Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief
In light of recent events in Texas, our impulse is to help. Here are some ways to be helpful.
Please note that at this point, in addition to financial support, DONATING BLOOD is the best way to help because Houston's blood supplies have been seriously impacted by this disaster.
UJA-Federation of New York has opened the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. As New Yorkers who lived through Hurricane Sandy just five years ago, we know too well the physical, emotional and economic toll of natural disaster. Please visit https://www.ujafedny.org/hurricane-harvey-relief-fund/ to join the relief efforts today.
The HEBREW FREE LOAN SOCIETY in New York is joining forces with the Hebrew Free Loan Association of Houston to provide interest-free disaster recovery loans to people in Houston who are struggling and will continue to face hardships for months and years to come.
There are many, many other worthy charities working to support those in the disaster zone. You can read THE FORWARD'S short list here.
And finally, CLICK HERE to sign-up to donate blood at HIR - The Bayit on Sunday, September 10 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
