Introspection
Introspection
Last week you were reminded that self-care was key to being able to go forward. Reminding us once more of Hillel’s words, that we begin with the self and go outward from there.
This Sunday marks the beginning of the month of Elul, traditionally a month where we take stock of the past year as we prepare for the year ahead.
The goal of this exercise is not self-flagellation. Rather, it has a number of different elements, the first of which is to look back over the course of the past year and remember those things that happened for which you are grateful.
In these challenging times, it is easier to remember the difficulties.
Here is the mitzvah that I invite you to engage in this week: take the time to remember three moments over the course of the past year that filled your heart and made you grateful.
